Welcome to Fately ("we," "us," "our"), a Birth Map reading service operated as a sole trader business based in Melbourne, Australia, at myfately.com (the "Site"). Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it's used, who we share it with, and the rights you have.
By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. Birth Data — Use & Retention
Because your Birth Map reading is generated from your birth details, we want to be specific about how this particular data is handled:
Purpose. Your date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, and gender are collected only to calculate your Four Pillars and generate your personalised report. They are never used for advertising and never sold.
Storage. We keep the minimum data necessary to deliver your report, respond to support requests, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations — and delete or de-identify it once it's no longer needed.
Sharing. Your birth details are not disclosed to third parties except the trusted service providers listed in Section 4, who process it under confidentiality solely to generate and deliver your report, or where we have a legal obligation to do so.
Your rights. You can request deletion or export of your birth data at any time via myfately@gmail.com.
2. Other Information We Collect
Contact information. If you choose to have your report emailed to you, we collect your email address for that purpose.
Payment information. If you purchase a paid reading, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, or bank details ourselves — Stripe handles this directly and securely.
Technical information. Like most websites, we may automatically collect standard technical data such as browser type, device type, and general location (city/country level), through cookies or similar technologies, for analytics and site performance purposes.
(Fately does not require you to create an account. We do not collect account passwords or login credentials.)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
Generate and deliver your personalised Birth Map reading
Process your payment for paid readings
Respond to enquiries you send us
Improve the accuracy and quality of our reports and Site
Meet legal or regulatory obligations where applicable
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we do not use ad-tracking pixels that share your data with advertising networks.
4. AI-Generated Content — How Your Report Is Created
Your report is generated using artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude models), based on the birth information you provide, applying traditional Chinese Five Elements (Wu Xing) methodology translated into plain English. No human reviews your individual birth details before your report is generated. Reports are provided for entertainment, self-reflection, and personal exploration only — see our Terms of Service for full detail.
5. Third Parties We Share Information With
We share the minimum information necessary with the following service providers, solely to operate the Site and deliver your report:
Anthropic (Claude AI) — receives your birth details to generate report content
Stripe — receives payment details to process your purchase
Make.com — receives your birth details and order information to automate report delivery
Resend — receives your email address to deliver your report, if requested
Framer — hosts the Site and may collect basic technical/analytics data
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing how they handle data passed to them. We only share what each service genuinely needs to do its job, and we may also disclose information to comply with legal obligations or to protect the rights and safety of users and Fately.
6. International Data Transfers
Because our service providers are located in various countries (including the United States), your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed outside Australia. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure any third party we share data with maintains appropriate data protection standards.
7. Data Storage and Security
We rely on providers (Stripe, Anthropic, Framer) that maintain industry-standard security practices, including encryption and access controls, and we take reasonable steps to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and, where applicable, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), consistent with the spirit of Australia's Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Data Retention
We retain your birth information and generated report for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, respond to any related enquiries, and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 9).

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or outdated information
Request deletion of your information ("right to be forgotten")
Object to or restrict certain processing
